A new household furniture retail store is coming to Altoona.

DuBois-based mostly Miller Household Home furnishings will open up Nov. 19 in the former Worth City Furniture setting up, 3010 Nice Valley Blvd.

Worth Town closed in March 2018, and in 2019, the setting up was obtained by Jeff S. Lengthy Development.

Miller House Furniture was launched in 1969 by Dorothy and Jesse Miller in Hudson, a compact village around Punxsutawney. Nowadays the business, which also has a location in the DuBois area, is owned by Pam Miller, the founders’ granddaughter.

She is excited about coming to Altoona.

A household furniture bank is also coming to Altoona as Miller is partnering with Aspect Church to establish what will be called Residing Essentials.

A spot has not been decided, but Miller said it will be open up by Nov. 19.

In 2014, Miller established a home furniture bank in the DuBois space.

“Every calendar year we help 300 families that are in have to have. We want to assist folks who are in want. I am as enthusiastic about this as opening the retail outlet. There are a good deal of people we can enable. It is a blessing,” Miller stated.
